Pura Kebo Edan is the Tantric Hindu shrine which is administratively located in the hamlet Intaran, Pejeng Village, District Tampaksiring, Gianyar regency. This temple is located on the border villages and village Bedulu Pejeng.
Pura Kebo Edan located between rice fields and village settlements Pejeng where there diselatan and western waterways and rice paddies Bedulu Subak and Subak rice fields in the north there Pegending. In the Pura Kebo Edan, there are some statues that became an important historical relic that is;

To date, there has been no authentic evidence that reveals the history of the Pura Kebo Edan because it has not found written sources, however, the existence of ancient relics, especially statues at Pura Kebo Edan there may be a useful evidence. This temple is a relic of the thirteenth century AD, which became one of the evidence that developing Tantric Hinduism in Bali. Tantric teachings espoused by King Kediri East Java in the 13th century to expand its power to Bali. Kertanegara king raised his representative in Bali named Kebo Parud and at the same instant in the Bali Hindu religion influenced by Tantric Hinduism. Kebo Edan name meaning crazy water buffalo probably taken from a pair of buffalo statues found this dipura. Two statues of this bull depicted an angry look towards the statue of Shiva's Bhairawa Bhairawa teaching practice with niwerti path to achieve its objectives, namely to drunken indulgence.
The number of rice fields around the Pura Kebo Edan, indicating that most of the population of the hamlet Intaran livelihood as farmers, however there is also a trade and become an employee.
Pura Kebo Edan with dijadikanya as one of the attractions in Bali, then made the facilities for the convenience of tourists, namely: toilet, parking and livery cloths and shawls which are required to wear clothing when entering into the temple.
